Looking for and Finding Salvation

Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved. – Acts 4:12

Every day we’re searching for something. You look for your keys. There’s only one place they can be. Climbing a mountain, sometimes there’s just one safe path to the summit. You can try other routes, but they won’t get you there.

In everyday life, those “only one way” situations can change. A new road is built. A better method is discovered. But when it comes to salvation, that’s . . . . not the case.

The apostle Peter the Apostle stood under pressure and spoke with clarity: “Salvation is found in no one else” (Acts 4:12). No other path.

That sounds exclusive to modern ears. We’re used to options, choices, and personal paths. So many people turn to themselves. “It must be my own way.” “Maybe if I try harder, live better, commit more fully, obey God more, I’ll be fine in the end.” But that road never leads to peace. It only leads to uncertainty about whether it’s been enough.

God gives something better. Salvation is found in one name, Jesus. Not by our effort, but by his. Not by our payment, but by his sacrifice. By grace. Freely given. Through faith. Simply received.

In that one name, you have a certain and lasting hope.
